Why we chose it
The ribs catch the glaze unevenly, so the bronze breaks toward grey along every ridge.
Worth knowing: It’s small — one or two cups — and the tray in our photographs isn’t included.

Coarse pottery with a ribbed body, finished in a kiln-transformation glaze that comes out somewhere between bronze and dark gold. The ridges catch it unevenly — which is the glaze doing its own work, not a decoration applied afterwards.

Care
Rinse with hot water and let it dry with the lid off. Warm the pot before a first pour rather than shocking it with boiling water.

Will mine look exactly like the photograph?
No — and that is the point. The glaze moves differently in every firing. Expect the same form and palette, with its own pattern.
Who makes it?
Not us. Kvist chooses its pieces from ceramics producers in China and lists one colourway of each — the one that sits best with everything else on the table.
How should I care for it?
Hand wash in warm water and let it dry before stacking. Avoid sudden temperature changes — no moving a cold piece straight into a hot oven. Where the foot is left unglazed, it can mark a polished surface, so lift rather than slide. All care notes.
