Worth knowing: Matcha powder isn’t included, and a bamboo whisk is a consumable: with daily use its tines wear and it will need replacing.

Eight pieces, boxed: a kiln-change glazed lotus bowl, a bamboo whisk and its stand, a sifter, a scoop and its rest, a spoon and a cloth. The bowl is fired in stoneware, and the glaze is left to move in the heat — pooling green at the rim, thinning where the petals turn.
It is a set built around slowness. Sift, measure, whisk, wait. On a weekday morning that takes four minutes, which is the point.

Care
Rinse the bowl by hand and dry upright. Never put the bamboo whisk in a dishwasher — rinse, shake out and let it air-dry on its stand, which is what the stand is for.

- Matcha bowl — stoneware in a kiln-change glaze, with a pouring lip.
- Bamboo whisk (chasen) — whisks the powder and water into a foam.
- Whisk stand — holds the whisk's shape while it dries.
- Sifter — breaks up lumps before the water goes in.
- Scoop — about 1.5 heaped scoops make one bowl.
- Scoop rest — somewhere to set the scoop down.
- Spoon — for measuring by the teaspoon instead.

Will mine look exactly like the photograph?
No — and that is the point. The glaze moves differently in every firing. Expect the same form and palette, with its own pattern.
Who makes it?
Not us. Kvist chooses its pieces from ceramics producers in China and lists one colourway of each — the one that sits best with everything else on the table.
How should I care for it?
Hand wash in warm water and let it dry before stacking. Avoid sudden temperature changes — no moving a cold piece straight into a hot oven. Where the foot is left unglazed, it can mark a polished surface, so lift rather than slide. All care notes.
